final outcome! the first garment that I ever done!

3 word project presentation day

My task today was to finish the project and prepared all the work to put on a board for prostration, I completed the task on time which I was placed with because I did improve the time management compare with the last project.

 I felt happy with the way that I lay out my work with black card boards, it turn out very well, the black boards help to show the red ( my main colour for this project) more , and the board look stand out compare with others.

 

Most of the feedback are said my illustrations are very high standtard, they love my cute version of red little riding hood animation drawing . And they love my blood cell idea for the word that I choose for this project, bleed. They gave me many helpful suggestions for my sketchbook, such as make more samples, do more design and tried to combine my textile print to my garment design. And tried to colour the final designs which helps to show the details and more interesting to look at.

I learn so much when I look other people’s presentations, I think some presentations are very stunning. Looking at other people’s sketchbook gave me so many inspirations to improve my projects, and ideas to make my sketchbook look more attractive.

However, I was not very happy with my project because I didn’t finished my final design drawing and sketchbook work because I was spend too much time on research and study drawings. Also, focused too much on the word bleed because I was used too much red. And my sketchbook was not completed, I didn’t colour my design and I should spend more time on design.

3 words project day 5

Today such a stressful day because I felt my design were not strong enough, I was very struggle about the final design garment sample. I need to do more fabric sample for the presatation too!

I think I didn't achieve those task successfully because it was too rush to complete my garment design sample. My laser cutting sample was fail completely which I can’t present my sample for presentation.

However, my tutor gave me same solutions to sort out the problems that I have today, it was very helpful and she gave me confidence of everything I’ve done. And she suggests me to focuses on final design illustration rather then waste time on sample making or research in this stage.

After the failure of making samples with laser cut, I have learn so much about how laser cutting works and what do I need to prepare for cutting. It is much more complicated than I expected. I have learn use the stoke section tool form Illustrator to change the size of stoke to fit different thicknesses material that I use for laser cutting. The most important thing that I’ve learn was I need to draw my design with illustrator.

Next time to use laser cut, I will make sure to draw my design with the illustrator before I sent to laser cut soft ware. And I should get a staff from prototyping room to ask more information about laser cut.

v&a museum

The school trip bring my group to V&A museum  to research the artifacts and get inspiration to create    

new ideas of the project and relate to 3 words projects. I went to a fashion gallery in V&A.The gallery has intruduce the history of fashion and different famous brand trends collection e.g. Dior, Givenchy etc....  I found the exhibition was very interesting for me because every piece of work has their own style and thoughs.

Then I went to the other area to get more inspration even the object that

I was interested to look at beautiful church sculpture ( the picture below) 。I think it give a glamour feeling for me and I love the decoration around the edage and the deer sculpture make me think about little red riding hood.   

Looking at was not relate to the word that I choose from the brief, I think may be those thing would help me develop my designs.
